Kuva Space joins the European Commission’s Copernicus Contributing Missions program to provide novel hyperspectral data services and test new use cases.
As the only European Emerging Data Provider for hyperspectral data services, Kuva Space will validate the robustness and quality of its hyperspectral data by meeting the Copernicus requirements and demonstrate seamless data delivery to support three Copernicus services:
-
- Copernicus Land Monitoring Service (CLMS)
- Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service (CMEMS)
- Copernicus Emergency Management Service (EMS)
- Copernicus Security Services (CSS)
Kuva Space will enhance its processing chain with advanced AI models to improve its hyperspectral data’s calibration and validation processes and delivery timeliness. Kuva Space aims to produce benchmark calibrated hyperspectral data validated by Copernicus services to monitor farming and aquaculture crops, forests, methane release, and harmful algae blooms in seas and coastal areas.
Project grant number 1000036036-8000027852-1 is supported by the European Commission and the European Space Agency.
