Kuva Space processes personal data as part of its business activities and when providing services to you.

We primarily receive personal data directly from you, as you use our services and through your interactions with us. However, to the extent permitted by applicable laws, we may also collect personal data from third parties.

We process the following personal data:

  1. contact and identification information, such as name, personal identity code, title, telephone number, email address, mailing address, and the name of company you represent;
  2. user data for data platform, such as account information, platform usage, and subscription and payments data;
  3. device information, such as IP address, device identifier, web browser, browsing information collected through cookies, web beacons, pixels and other similar technologies used on our website;
  4. other data you provide to us.

3. THE PURPOSE AND LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING

Certain processing of personal data is required due to our status as a licensed ground station. This obligation is laid out in Act on ground stations and certain radars (96/2023). We process personal data for as long as that data is necessary for the purposes we have collected the data for. We will delete personal data when its retention is no longer necessary and there is no right or obligation to process it under law.

Kuva Space may disclose personal data to third parties in following ways:

  1. to the authorities and some service providers permitted and required by law such as Finnish Transport and Communications Agency both annually and when data is requested by the authorities in order to fulfil the know-your-customer, security and other requirements of Kuva Space;
  2. to our partners, where our partners process personal data on our behalf and in accordance with our instructions, for example to identify and address data security issues;
  3. with your consent, to the parties to whom the consent applies.

6. DATA TRANSFERS OUTSIDE OF EEA

Your personal data is mainly processed within the European Economic Area.

However, in certain cases, we may transfer or access personal data outside the European Economic Area. In such cases, we provide adequate protection for the transfers of personal data to countries outside of the European Economic Area through a series of agreements with our service providers based on the Standard Contractual Clauses or through other appropriate safeguards, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
